So whats the hype about water?

Approximately 75% of the body is water. Blood is 83% water, muscles are 75% water, the brain is 95% water and the lungs are 90% water… every cell in the body needs water. It is an absolute part of all biological processes from the transportation of nutrients and oxygen into the cells, adding moisture to the air in the lungs, protecting vital organs by helping the organs absorb nutrients, regulating body temperature and metabolism, flushing toxins and protecting and moisturizing our joints. So maintaining proper hydration is the key to keeping the body healthy.

Some experts recommend drinking half of your body weight in ounces. Use that as a general rule but definitely drink more if you're more active.

During the normal course of the day we lose approximately 1.5 liters of water through urination and an additional liter through sweating, breathing and bowel movements. If you consume 2 liters a day you're replacing what you have lost, but if you exercise you’ll need an additional .5 liters.

Drinking more water will help you lose weight, appear younger through healthier skin, relieve fatigue and even promote a good mood while helping to prevent ailments.

Remember replenish, replenish, replenish.
