2014 TOP 10 BEAUTY DO's and DON'Ts PART 2

6. DO use masks on a frequent basis like Golden Globe Winner Cate Blanchett.

You can read more about Cate's mask of choice HERE.
Masks are usually impregnated with awesome essences to help rehydrate or target skin types. Asians do masks like we take our vitamins because they've known for years how amazing masks are for the skin. Celebs don't keep masks a secret either. Demi Moore and Jessica Simpson have both tweeted their mask-clad mugs.

THE best masks to buy on the market are Biocellulose Masks. The biggest reason to use Biocellulose is that you can wear them for long periods of time without drawing moisture away from the skin. Once a cloth mask dries it begins to pull moisture out of the skin. You can fall asleep in a Biocellulose mask and not worry!

7. DON'T take contouring lessons from Lindsay Lohan.

Yes, Lindsay Lohan has once again made my top 10 don'ts two years in a row! Contouring is one of the easiest ways to slim a neckline, hide a jowl or two or slim a nose like J-Lo. Even Tom Ford has a contouring powder in his well edited beauty line. BUT for some reason Lindsay Lohan did not get them memo or a clue from one of the thousands of makeup artists whom have worked on her on HOW to contour her face. You MUST blend your makeup. Lindsay has one of the worst contouring jobs I've ever seen especially around the jawline. The line is just too severe. It may be fine for the stage, but in real life it's a MAJOR don't. I wouldn't be surprised if she used self tanner to achieve it. I give her credit for at least adjusting her purplish grey blush she wore during her trials to at least a tolerable orange. You can see more views of Lindsay at the UK Mail online site HERE.

8. DON'T listen to superstar personal trainers that compare drinking pressed juices to eating Twinkies.

Gweneth Paltrow's trainer Tracey Anderson was quoted last year saying you might as well eat a Twinkie instead of subscribing to a popular juice cleanse program. In her defense she is talking about non-organic juicing. She believes the same calories, glycemic spikes and chemicals exist in a pressed juice as a Twinkie. Hold that thought- this is coming from the person who was reported by Elle magazine to tell her clients to eat baby food? Read more in Elle HERE. The moral of the story is you are what you eat. My famous quote is "eat a cheeto, look like a cheeto." Perhaps after reading this article you can decide whether to splurge on that Twinkie or a juice. I think my thoughts are pretty evident here.

9.DO make lifestyle choices and OWN them.

When Golden Globe presenter and L'oreal spokesperson Diane Keaton appeared at the Golden Globes looking older than her ill-timed L'oreal Commercial following her presentation (see article here), controversial sparks flew across the internet. Let's get the obvious out of the way: L'oreal should really watch the CGI and retouching on their advertising....or should they find someone who has done cosmetic surgery? Which situation is actually correct? According to the FDA,neither. L'oreal has been slapped recently for making claims on their beauty products. Anything that alters the structure of the skin must be vetted and marketed as a drug. Basically a cream can't alter the structure of the skin or have a therapeutic benefit. Otherwise it has to be sold through doctors as a prescription after is has gone through clinical trials and a barrage of testing.

The deeper question here is does Diane Keaton look good? Should she get plastic surgery, fillers, lasers, a facelift or even dye her hair? She's obviously made a personal choice despite her contractual obligations to the beauty industry. I personally say good for her. She made a decision and she seems to be owning it. She has incredible cheek bones, lovely eyes (loved her makeup at the Globes) and I personally think she is still a beautiful woman. Pretty sure the hair is a flawless wig, but all-in-all Diane appears to be a happy and content woman.

Has Diane Keaton adapted to the French lifestyle? According to Mireille Guiliano author of French Women Don't Get Fat and French Women Don't Get Facelifts says its all about an attitude of joy, frequent haircuts, vacations and shifting your attitude. You can read more about her guide to avoiding a facelift in this article.
