IS YOUR THINKING AGING YOU?

I have noticed in my past ten years of practice my clients and friends that vocalize or obsess over the negative tend to age faster, break out more, and wear sadness in their eyes more. It got much worse around 2008/2009 when the economy hit.

According to Psychology Today 80% of the thoughts that enter our brains are negative and eventually we come to believe they are true. I'm tired. I'm stressed. I'm sad. I'm unfulfilled. I'm overwhelmed. I hate Monday. I'm exhausted. I can't do this. I hate what my body looks like naked. My car isn't as nice as his. I'm not as good as....I'll never.....

Just reading those words can bring you down, make you feel stressed or even downright overwhelmed.

Now try thinking or even saying: I am loved. Everything I touch turns to gold. Today is the best day ever! I am strong. I am relaxed. I am productive. Don't you feel better just reading that? That's because reading/saying/thinking those words raise your body's own vibration and functions. Even cancer survivors that I have spoken with say that 85% of their success and recovery is attributed to staying positive.

16th Century philosopher Rene Descartes famously said " I think therefore I am". Your thoughts have a physiological effect on your entire body. When you are stressed it is not something that physically happens to you, yet stress can create physical implications such as digestive issues, hair loss, a compromised immune system and a slew of other problems associated with it.

Without sounding morbid think of a time when you've seen a child bust up and scrape their knees. They may have been fine until they either saw the reaction on their parent's face or after they saw their own blood. I've also seen when the tears can be instantly stopped with something as simple as an ice cream. The power of the thought of ice cream magically trumps the thought of the boo boo that probably wasn't a big deal to begin with.

Just in the last week I witnessed the negative thoughts of customers and friends. Some of that can be attributed to a lack of Vitamin D, an imbalance of bacteria in the colon, staying up too late on Facebook or a slew of other reasons.....and our skin tells the world what we are thinking. Breakouts from stress. Sadness in the eyes... and more.

There is truth when they say we are own worst enemies. We have control of what we think and in the end how we look as a result! "It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters"- Epictetus.

BEST LIFE EVER CARDS

Events are not in our control, but our thoughts are and I'm going to show you today what one of my clients, Taylor Wells put together to create her BEST LIFE EVER. They are a deck of 102 positive affirmations to carry with you through the day. I personally make it a habit to read through them first thing when my eyes open and before my feet hit the ground. It's the perfect time to fill a fresh and clear mind and sets the tone for the day. Then I stop at a card that makes me feel really happy.....sometimes it's the word "MAGIC" or "I AM ENERGIZED". You'll find a card that works for you and let that be your mantra for the day. I dare you to try it and see how positive thoughts manifest themselves into some pretty cool stuff!

Final thought: Next time you're on Facebook (if you have facebook).....look at the people that always have something negative to say and the chain of negative events that tend to accompany them. Now observe the people that only talk about uplifting things...while some of it can be an illusion I will say that I personally know that they tend to make a lot of magic happen outside of their Fantasy Facebook and they certainly look better for it!
