CAN SLOUCHING MAKE YOU AGE FASTER?



It might seem really silly, but did you know that having poor posture could make you age faster?!!!

 Slumping in your chair can cause your breath to be more shallow thus reducing the amount of oxygen available to transport from the lungs to the red blood cells. Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen and iron to other cells to keep them functioning and stable. The cells will die faster if they don't get the oxygen and nutrients they need. It could also lead to cancer because the lack of oxygen causes the cells to be unstable.

As a side note I also find that when people are under stress they tend to hold their breath while they try to concentrate (can't breathe and think at the same time). There are several customers I find I have to remind to breathe when they are in my chair.

My suggestion is to be conscious of your breathing and your posture if this is a problem for you. Yoga is one good way to train your body to think and act on this.  I also find ballet another great way to better your posture and work on your breathing.
