HEALTHY FLYING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
by Fiona McCormack- Flight Attendant Extraordinaire
These days it's hard to watch the TV or open a newspaper without hearing about a new illness or contagious disease. As a Flight Attendant clients are always asking me how I manage to avoid getting sick while flying multiple flights a week.
Here are a few pointers to give your immune system a fighting chance -
A couple of days before your trip begin increasing your daily dose of vitamin C . Also add a couple of drops of Oregano Oil to an 8 ounce cup of water and drink in the morning and before bed. Oregano Oil is known for it's powerful antiviral properties.
On the day of your flight mix a couple of drops of Tea Tree oil (a wonderfully antiseptic and antiviral oil!) with a small amount of coconut oil (or your favorite carrier oil). Apply this mixture around the outside of the nasal passages and ear openings to help avoid nasty germs entering the body. You can also use this in place of hand sanitizer to avoid drying out the skin.
If you are already sick or have a compromised immune system before getting on the flight it might be a good idea to invest in a disposable mask. You can add a few drops of Tea Tree to the mask for added protection and it also smells good! This will not only protect you from catching new germs - but will also protect those around you from catching yours!
Happy Flying!
