Why are Lash Extensions a novelty? After 12+ years doing lash extensions I have found that 40% of consumers are not candidates because of the following contraindications:
#1 Reason: Thyroid condition (rapid hair loss)
Allergies such as hay fever
Weak lashes from health (not able to get the desired effect the customer wants)
Allergic reaction to patch tests
Cysts
Blepharitis
Hordeola/Stye
Recent lash service with damage
Lash tinting or perming in 24 hours
Eye infections- conjunctivitis
Skin disease or inflammation around the eye
Recent eye operations
Watery eyes
Hypersensitive eyes
Contact lenses
Trichotillomania (people who pull out their eyelashes)
Conjunctivitis
Dry Eye Syndrome
Glaucoma
Chemotherapy (few or no lashes)
Sleep (or sex) patterns
Alopecia

Once again Lash Extensions are amazing. I have been doing them on some customers without a break for 10 years and their lashes are twice as full as when we began.
BUT the future of lashes is back to the temporary lashes of the 60's. It's fast. 99% of women can do it and you can truly customize the look for each occasion.
Lash extensions DON'T damage in the right hands, but it's definitely buyer beware out there! Hopefully you don't end up like the customer in this photo who came to me with expensive damage!!!
